Today saw the wonderful marriage of the lovely Catherine to His Royal Highness Prince William.
This has been the fairy tale wedding that most Disney stories portray.
After months of eager anticipation about what Kate Middleton would be wearing on her special day, the bride, now to be called Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cambridge, walked down the aisle in a long-sleeved, sweetheart-neckline lace gown designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen.
This secret was revealed at least 6 hours early by a reporter from a top British Newspaper editor who spotted the designer as she sneaked in the 5 star hotel where Catherine’s family were staying the night before the wedding. The Editor spotted the designer’s belt and claimed that she knew that it was the Designer for Alexander McQueen. This was later confirmed when the Duchess stepped out of her car with her father. The Book makers will be paying out money to all those who placed a bet on this fact.
The ivory gown, became an instant hit the world over and is enshrined in fashion history, as THE dress of the season. It was made of French Chantilly lace and English Cluny lace throughout, with a train nearly nine feet long and designed to resemble a blossoming flower. The bodice was fitted and the the skirt flowed out into super sweet pleats swanning down into a full skirt. The ivory duchess satin and lace shoes were also designed by McQueen.
The blushing bride drew gasps of “wow” and “ahh” when she stepped out of the car in her stunning bridal gown. Kate decided to wear her hair down in soft curls hanging loosely over her shoulders and ‘borrowing’ the tiara from HRH The Queen, she set of her train to perfection. Holding her father’s hand as he led her to her prince, she was visibly happy as she took step after step to the alter. As she reached the alter and was level to William, she griped her father’s fingers and there was a moment where she appeared really nervous at the enormity of the occasion, and her grip tightened on his fingers, her looked at her and she felt comforted. She was standing beside her man.
The Maid of Honour, Kate’s younger sister, Pippa Middleton 27, nearly stole the whole show – She really turned up the heat in a slinky, sexy, body-skimming dress also made by Sarah Burton. When onlookers saw her emerge from the car in that cowl-necked dress showing off her svelte physique, there were audible gasps. She has been an instant hit and the web has gone red hot for information and pictures about her.
